Who is/was your hero?: All of the beautiful friends we have met along this journey who are battling cancer as well!

Audrey hadn't been feeling well for a few days, and her pediatrician said she had a virus that would run it's course. Well it didn't, and one morning she woke up white as a ghost. We took her to our local ER and they did some blood work and found some alarming blood counts. Fortunately for us, our ER doctor is also our friend, and he didn't blow off our concerns! They sent us to Children's Mercy in Kansas City that night. Mother's Day I might add! Over the next couple of days we heard the most God awful things that may/may not be what was wrong, and our fears were brought to life when we finally received her diagnosis of Acute Monocytic Leukemia. Audrey went through 5 grueling rounds of intense chemotherapy and spent nearly 6 months in the hospital with short breaks at home in between rounds. We are so PROUD of our little girl, all of our children for that matter! We continue to HOPE and pray that her cancer is history! Audrey has had to "grow" up a lot this past year, and yet somehow has remained the sweetest little girl on the planet!!
